The Department of Computer Science & Engineering and Information Technology is a leading department of Jaypee Institute of Information Technology (JIIT), Noida which is a UGC approved, AICTE approved, NAAC accredited & NIRF ranked Deemed to be University. From last four years, JIIT is lying in the top 100 leading institutions in the country as per NIRF ranking. It thrives to be a centre of excellence in evolving key areas of computing & IT; like artificial intelligence and machine learning, cloud computing, big data, Internet of Things (IoT) etc. The department with its strong and dedicated team of faculty members & under the leadership & vision of very reputed & dedicated visionaries, always aims to provide high quality education and nurture future leaders in the field of IT professionals, researchers and entrepreneurs.
The Department comprises of more than 100 experienced, self-motivated, dynamic and highly experienced faculty members. More than 80 % of them are Ph.D. in different areas of Computer Science and Engineering & others are their advance stage of completing the doctoral degree. Department has total 47 labs, which are equipped with state of the art computing facility and infrastructure requirement. The department offers following programmes:

Department of CSE & IT, JIIT Noida offers Ph.D. in almost all current areas of Computer Science and Engineering. The main objective of the Ph.D. program is to provide platform for research, innovation, training, enhance knowledge & skills to scholars in the emerging domains of Distributed Computing, Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, DevOps, Data Science, Data Analytics, Blockchain, Big Data, Internet of Things, etc. The scholars are encouraged to publish their original research work in leading International Journals and Conferences. The department have scholars from both academia and industry. The scholars from industry are from popular companies like IBM, NIC, Deloitte, Infosys, PWC, UCO Bank, NatWest Group, ONGC Videsh etc. Presently, more than 100 scholars are pursuing their doctoral degree under the guidance of committed faculty members. As on June 2024, the department has awarded Ph.D. to 83 scholars.
